Reaching Opole

BY CAR
Opole is situated between Wrocław and Katowice, with the A4 motorway, located 15 minutes away from the city centre, connecting the three cities.  The newly-renovated roads to the city make for a smooth and fast travel experience. Opole very compact, which means that moving around by car is very easy. The city has a Paid Parking Zone, divided into part A – the very centre of the city and part B – the surrounding downtown areas. Paid parking is active Monday-Friday between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM. If you only need to stop for a moment, you can grab a “zero” ticket which entitles you to free parking for 15 minutes. One of the projects currently in the works involves prohibiting car traffic in the Old Town area, and transfer hubs are being established which focus on sustainability.
A top-of-the-line fleet of city buses connects all parts of Opole. If you are not interested in taking a bus, you can opt to use the city bike system, which has a dense network of stations. Everything is close by in Opole so moving around on foot is also a valid option, and if your destination is a little farther away, a bicycle can take you to anywhere in the city in 20 minutes.

BY PLANE
The closeness of the A4 motorway offers quick access to the Wrocław or Katowice – Pyrzowice airports. If you choose to go by car, it is about a one-hour drive.

BY TRAIN
The very centre of the city houses a renovated historic train station. Passengers getting off can reach every part of the city from there, either by car, public transport or on foot. Opole is very well connected with other cities in Poland. For example, Warsaw is only a three-hour train ride away.
